The long-awaited 40th Anniversary Update for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) will be released on November 11 at 17:00 Dutch time, the developer reported. The update will then be available to customers who purchase the game “separately” or play through Xbox Game Pass.
With the update, Microsoft is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the airplane simulator, including some ‘classic airports’ and vintage airplanes from Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight! to add to the game.
The update is not only provided with nostalgic material; On November 11, the game will also feature two highly anticipated ‘new’ aircraft shapes: gliders and helicopters. While these vehicles have appeared in previous games in the series, Microsoft Flight Simulator’s 2020 reboot has only had “regular” planes so far.
